This morning we had to be up at 5 am to make it to the ferry on time for our game drive. Good thing Brooke has a good sense of humor because i tried to set an alarm for 5, but accidentally set it for 4. OOps. Once we got going at the correct time we were VERY excited. It was amazing to see the sunrise at the peer while we waited. There was a big globe there so we took pictures pointing to both Uganda and also where we are from. I could not reach between the two which means that it is VERY far apart.
Brooke and I rode on the top of the van the whole time. We were literally taking our own lives in our hands because Sempala is a CRAZY driver. We had to hold on so tight that my elbow got a cramp. However it was quite possibly the most amazing thing i have ever done and i would do that again a million times. We drove around and searched for lions forever. We saw warthogs, baboons, antelopes, and two million giraffes. It was unbelievable. As we drove we just kept saying how surreal it was to be on safari in Africa. We did entertain ourselves with the Ipod playing Lion King music and a little bit of Toto, because who doesn't want to hear that! HaHa.
These are Heart beasts, Antelopes, and a monkey in a tree. Don't worry, if the lions come... i'm ready.
After our morning break was when it got exciting. We saw about 2 million giraffes. It was incredible! I mean everywhere you looked was another one.
We were So lucky to have seen the Lioness. It was crazy! She just walked right across in front of us like it was nothing. I was so glad that i had a quick shutter and was able to just snap away. I got lucky and nabbed this shot of her face!
Our time on the game drive was over and we still had seen only 1 elephant. WHO by the way .. was hanging on to a tree. Henry said it was sleeping, but i'm pretty sure he was on his last leg. Maybe dying would be a better word to describe the elephant we saw. I was SO sad. But everyone said we might see them on the water.
